Secondment
Senior AI engineers, embedded in your team. Working on your codebase, in your standups, alongside your people.
AI is easy to prototype and hard to ship. Most initiatives sit between proof-of-concept fatigue and an integration plan that never arrives. The thing that moves them is an engineer who has done it before, in the room.
Continker is engineer-first. We have been building production AI systems since 2014, across model design, data engineering, MLOps, and the parts of computer science that surface when something has to run reliably under real load. The work spans pharma, banking, logistics, and retail.
Secondment is one of the ways the work gets done — a senior engineer joining your organisation to build, ship, and stay close to the system once it lives in production.
Who shows up
Ten years building ML systems in production. Hands-on engagements at Boehringer Ingelheim, ABN AMRO, ING, PostNL, and NN Group. Regulated environments are the default rather than the exception. Pharma model validation, banking model risk, GDPR-sensitive flows. Comfortable in Python, in your CI, and at a procurement table.
The same person who writes the code deploys it. If the engagement calls for someone in the on-call rotation, that is fine.
When this engagement fits
Secondment is the right shape when a system needs to be built and shipped from inside your team, when a stalled initiative needs someone who has done the integration work before, or when a senior practitioner is needed alongside the team for a longer stretch.
How an engagement runs
Engagement length is set per project. A few months to ship a specific system, or a year or more alongside your team. We are comfortable with both and structure the contract accordingly. Three to five days per week, on-site or remote depending on your security posture. One-month notice after the first six weeks. IP defaults to you: if it is done on your time, it is yours. Day rates are quoted per engagement and we discuss the number directly before sending an SOW.
We are familiar with most enterprise procurement workflows, including the supplier onboarding systems at the larger Dutch banks and at Boehringer.
